… having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. (Col. 2:22, ESV) BAPTISM IS AN IMPORTANT STEP IN YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY AND IS A WAY TO PUBLICLY IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST.
When we begin to put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, we follow his call to be baptized and confess our commitment to him publicly. In baptism, we confess our belief that Jesus died, was buried, and has risen. We also demonstrate that our old life has died, been buried, and we have been raised to live a new life following Jesus.
